Green salads are easy and effective media for transmission of Coliform bacteria because at times these are consumed as fresh and uncooked items. Samples of cucumber, carrot and lettuce were collected from different markets of Dhaka city and were found to have a heavy load of coliform bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter and Pseudomonas which could possibly affect the human health seriously
