Seasonal changes in the contents of the major nutrient elements in the leaves and the fruits of persimmon tree

Annual variation in the contents of the main nutrient elements in the leaves and fruits of persimmon tree were studied in 1985 and 1987. The results showed that the contents of N, P and K in the leaves dropped with the increase of leaf age, while the contents of Ca and Mg increased gradually with the advance of season. The contents of these five main nutrient elements in the fruits showed a tendency of gradual decrease with the development of fruits. The contents of the major nutrient elements and the regularity of their changes were different between the trees with high output and those with low production. The sampling period and location for leaf-analysis of persimmon tree were determined preliminarily according to the results
