Phosphoric fertilizers were applied to Medicago sativa and Astragalus huangheensis in semi-arid drab soil of west Liaoning. It promoted their growth and productivity significantly. Experiment showed that is one of the most effctive and economical measures for increasing the pasture output. The fertilizer efficiency of high P-content calcium superphosphate was higher than that of ground phosphorite in the first year, but the after-effect in the second year for the later. Both the first year effect and the second year after-effect of the two kinds of P-fertilizer increased with the amount of application. The proper amount of fertilizer applied is 300kg/ ha of calcium superphosphate and 450kg/ha of ground phosphorite
