Reproduction efficiency of sows with a reduced number of active spermatozoa in divided sperm doses of boars

In inseminations with sperm doses of boars with contents of 3.5 mld. (control group) and 2,5 mld. (experimental group) of active spermatozoids in intervals of maintaining the sperm doses in the day of sampling, 24 hours after sampling and 48 hours after semen sampling, gestation after the first inseminations of breeding sows was 88,1, 85,9 and 100 in the control group, and 88,7, 83,7 and 80 in the experimental group. After all the inseminations of breeding sows the gestation results were 90,1, 85,9 and 100 in the control group, and 91,2, 82,0 and 80 in the experimental group. The percentage of pregnant sows in all the inseminations reached 85,2, 74,7 and 100 in the control group in comparison with 83,8, 78,7 and 80 in the experimental group. In fertility (the number of all and of live-born piglets per litter) the experimental group was better in spite of the duration of maintenance of the sperm doses prior to insemination. Reduction of the number of active spermatozoids in the sperm dose from 3,5 mld. on 2,5 mld. from divided ejaculates of the same boars had no negative influence on the reproduction efficiency of sows.
