Methyl esters of rapeseed acids - bio fuel - as an alternative fuel for compression ignition engines with favourable ecological character were evaluated. Variants of calculation are discussed in detail. The price of raw material - rapeseed or rapeseed oil plays an essential role in costs. At the capacity of production 1-2.5 kt yearly (production testing unit) and calculations on the level of world price, the ratio of price of Diesel oil and bio fuel is close to the limit values 1:2, supposing that the return of the investment is of a medium rate (5-6 years). Nowadays, bio fuel may be applied where it has a marked ecological effect and where it solves the problem of the part of arable land not being under cultivation, for which subsidies are given for the reason of no management. Bio fuel may solve many problems following from overproduction in strong economic systems.
