Milk production and some parameters of milkability were investigated in two- to four-year-old horned (H, n = 56) and polled (P, n = 132) goats of Saanen type (mostly white short-haired goats); their machine milking was performed in a sigle-line milking parlour of Alfa-Laval 2x24 type Milk production was recorded in individual animals in two- to three-week intervals, twice a day (in the morning, in the evening). The data on the length of milking of individual goats and intensity of milk release were calculated from three to four time studies when the amount of milk released in 30-second intervals was simultaneously recorded. There were found out no significant differences between H and P goats in the average daily milk production per lactation (216 and 212 days, resp.) and per milking period (in litres), nor in the udder volume (in litres); 1.542; 1.454; 1.616; or 1.532; 1.476; 1.595, respectively. The time of milking in H goats was shorter than that in P goats (117.4 and 141.4 seconds; (P0.05). The absolute amounts of milk (in ml) relased in seconds 10.30 and 60 were higher in H goats (n
