Application of the theory of point estimate to an estimate of inherent reliability of farm machines in the gama distribution model

In the present paper methods of the theory of point estimate were used for an estimate of the inherent reliability function in those farm machines where it can be assumed that the time of their inherent reliability has the gamma distribution. The estimate is simple in the case of the exponential distribution; this is a special case of the gamma distribution. In the other cases the estimate was found by the method of maximum likelihood. This is a numerically laborious method, and this is the reason why a simpler estimate by the method of moments was also used. In the final part of the paper a concrete example is desribed to illustrate the two methods.
