[Interspecific crossing in resistance development of Vitis vinifera against Plasmopara viticola]

Resistance of Vitis vinifera against Plasmopara viticola was studied in CSFR in trials with one-year vine seedlings under high artificially induced infection and evaluated by the Ball scale from 0 to 5 (with 0 = resistant, 5 = highly susceptible). Best results were achieved with crossings (Cabernet-Sauvignon x V. amurensis) x (Severnyj x Riparia rup. Schwarzmann), elite seedlings (Seyve-Villard, Seibel) x cv. Festivalnyj, XIV 13-31 x Dajana and Plaj x Dajana. The highest number of combinations was carried out with the Hungarian cv. Krystal (V. amurensis x V. vinifera) F2 x Thalloczy Lajos) x Sv 12375 which confirmed its high frost and disease resistance and earliness.
