Data on the reciprocal crossing of Hungarian Flekvieh and Hereford cattle
1990
Szabo, F. (Pannon Agrartudomanyi Egyetem, Keszthely (Hungary). Allattenyesztesi Tanszek)
The change off maternal and paternal partners at the reciprocal crossing of Hungarian Flekvieh and Hereford breeds results in a statistically significant difference in the growth of weaned calves and thus in the weaning weight. The results of calves coming from Hungarian Flekvieh cows surpasses in this respect those of calves originating from Hereford mothers. The growth after weaning, pregnancy result, the weight increase of young fattened bulls, their body size, body proportions, slaughtering and deboding results, and the chemical composition of boneless meat agree practically with each other in the case of the two groups arising from reciprocal crossing.
