Herbicide application using trickle irrigation with a non-mixing injector on tomatoes

A field experiment was conducted inside a greenhouse at the greenhouse experimental area of the American Univ. of Beirut during the period of July 1987 to May 1988 to apply herbicides through a trickle irrigation system for weed control on greenhouse tomatoes. For this purpose, a non-mixing injector was built locally to inject the herbicides, Metribuzin and Trifluralin, at three different application times and two herbicide rates. Data on weed control and crop yield were recorded and analyzed. The non-mixing injector proved to be an efficient device for chemical injection since the best results of weed control and fruit yield in the treated plots were similar to those of the handweeded control subplot
