Describes a research programme currently underway in New Zealand with kiwifruit producers and consultants in the Bay of Plenty on information systems in kiwifruit production. The programme is seeking to identify a cognitive mapping procedure for the monitoring of producer's decision processes through time. The objective of the programme is to develop the Management Information System through cognitive research resulting in a system more useful to clients while increasing the adoption rate of the system
