This report reviews the ecology of the European rabbit, Oryctolagus cuniculus, in New Zealand and analyses the characteristics of the Centra Otago environment. The objective is to establish a basis for classification of land according to the degree to which it supports specified levels of rabbit populations. The information can be used to target a comprehensive programme of rabbit control and land management
