Assessment of inoculum potential of VAM [vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae] inocula in different forms - mycorrhizal soil (MS), MS + rhizobium (MS+R), mycorrhizal root (MR) stored at different conditions - cold storage, ambient condition, and under refrigeration were done using 3 VA endophytes - G. mosseae, G. fasciculatum and Gigaspora sp. Sampling schedule for MR, MR+S and MG were down after 8 months of storage and every two months thereafter. After 8 months of storage at ambient condition, there was a considerable decrease of the inoculum potential of Gigaspora sp. in MS and MS+R. For G. mosseae and G. fasiculatum the inoculum potential in MS was slightly affected but unaffected when rhizobium was added. It was observed that the estimated number of infective propagules (IP) of MS stored at ambient condition decreased 10 times to its initial number. Inoculum potential of MR did not change after 12 months of storage in all conditions. Inoculum potential of "pot cultures" continuously maintained at screenhouse condition was also monitored and the number of IP is now being estimated.
