Nueva Ecija [Philippines], land of plenty but land of the poor conspicuously, despite the rice resources these Novo Ecijano have, they persist in being poor. Situated in one of the most fortunate areas in Luzon where the weather is conducive for almost all types of crops, Nueva Ecija "boosts" of a large number of poor. In this study, the reasons for this discrepancy was delved into. And the cause of all this is the system in place in the industry of Nueva Ecija. Being mainly an agricultural community, the province is being lorded about by rich traders who get most of the profits. Nueva Ecija is bet by other problems such as lack of potable water, not enough medical personnel, etc. And this study tried to identify where the Philippine Business for Social Progress [PBSP] could be of service. Three areas were identified where PBSP can intervene through conduit non-government organization already existing in the province. The first area of intervention is in the land preparation and labor intensive stages of the rice farmer. By offering an alternative credit system where the interest charges are minimal, the rice farmer can increase his income by about P6,000.00 The second and third interventions are the offer for alternative income generating endeavors in the form of livestock contract growing and basket manufacturing, respectively.
