Combining ability of female inbred lines and monoecious field cucumber

The combining ability of 30 monoecious and three female inbred lines of the field cucumbers has been analysed. The best hybrids gave statistically significant yields that were comparable to standard Polan F sub (1) variety. These hybrids had fruits coloured were intensively, their skin was smoother, they had regular shapes that were better for processing and were more resistant to scabs. It was concluded that there was a possibility to introduce new Polish cucumber hybrid varieties
