Chromium content in green fodder of white clover

Green fodder of white clover cultivated for seeds contains on the average 0.35 ppm of chromium, with its high variability (V=66 per cent) and differences between the years of investigation. A higher mean content of chromium (0.47 ppm) was found in green fodder harvested in the first year after sowing in comparison to 0.22 ppm of Cr in green fodder harvested in the second year after sowing. The investigated varieties differ in their accumulation of chromium only in the particular years with a lack of distinct and regular dependences between each other. In the mean values there are no such differences. The total uptake of chromium with the yields oscillated from 0.15 to 2.39 g/ha - with a mean amount of 1.16 g for green fodder harvested in the first year after sowing, and 0.61 g Cr/ha for green fodder harvested in the second year after sowing.
