The best raw product for cider production was fruit of the Warta cv. It is characterised by a very high level of carbohydrates, high content of acids and low content of pectic substances soluble in water. Ciders of the Warta cv. were rich in sugars and acids and scored very high in organoleptic tests. Suitable for cider production were also Alwa and Idared
