Selenium in soils and plants of Western Pomerania
1990
Zablocki, Z.
The distribution of selenium in 62 mineral soil profiles was examined according to horizons in the profile and to soil properties. The data showed that the total selenium concentrations in selected soils were generally very low (below 0.3 mg/kg d.m. of soil). Selenium soluble in 0.01 M Ca(NO3)2 constituted from 1.4 to 3.2 per cent of total in individual soil horizons. The higher level of total selenium concentrations (2.51-4.20 mg/kg d.m. of soil) was found in soil developed from clay of tertiary origin occupying 0.04 per cent of area. A map of Szczecin voivodeship illustrating concentration of selenium in soils was drawn. Its basis were characteristics of arable land regarding humus content and percentage of fractions smaller than 0.02 mm as well as above mentioned correlations
