On the basis of the investigation results several general problems are discussed, concerning: the importance of forest islands as habitats for other small vertebrates; the role of forest islands as shelters and hunting grounds for larger vertebrates, like deer, birds of prey and carnivores; how to form, shape and manage the forest islands to make them more attractive to animals
