The situation in Poland during partition period was the cause of a mass peregrination of the Polish youth to study abroad. They were made to do so by the difficulties and restrictions imposed by Russia, Austria and Prussia. On the other hand they were attracted by the free growth of studies and science abroad. As an agriculture country, Poland was particularly sensitive to practical changes and development of theories in the sciences of agriculture farming, in the broad sense, in the neighbour-countries, the near and the more distant ones
