Effect of supplementary molybdenum fertilization on the level of nitrate and nitrite contents in vegetables

Supplementary molybdenum fertilization significantly increased carrot root yield, especially on the podzolic soil. No such effect of Mo fertilization was observed in the yield of winter squash. Determination of nitrates at some vegetation terms in the vegetables showed a significant relation between nitrate content and plant growth phase. Nitrate content was the highest in the first period of vegetation and it decreased with plant growth
