Characteristic was given of the changes in thermal and oxygen conditions, chemical composition of water, visibility and chlorophyll content in six lakes differing in their trophic status. It was shown that the eutrophication process may be slowed down in cases of persistent and stable stratification and maintenance of oxygen content in the hypolimnion
