Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) and their role in the main plant communities of the Ojcow National Park

In the years 1983-86 detailed investigations in 5 main forest communities were performed on a total of 493 trees representing 11 species. As a result of the study 863 specimens (55 species) of family Ichneumonidae were found, including 3 species new to entomofauna Poland. They were found to reduce the number of phytofagous (pest) insects from 10 to 41 per cent (average)
