Accessory effect of insecticide Ambush 25 EC on plants of peas (Pisum sativum L.). Pt. 4. Effect on some components in leaves and seeds

The experiments were conducted in two variants. In the first - the plants were sprayed with Ambush 25 EC three times in following development phases: beginning of bloom, beginning of pod formation, and two weeks later. In this experiment the leaves as well as the seeds were analysed. In variant two - seeds, harvested from plants sprayed with Ambush 25 EC in the preceding year and controls, were sown on the plots. This experiment was aimed at establishing the presence of an after-effect of the applied insecticide. It was found that Ambush 25 EC caused changes in the contents of starch, water-soluble sugars, and total protein in the leaves of peas. The applied insecticide significantly decreased the content of total protein in both cultivars of peas. The content of starch in seeds of cv. Beniaminek treated with Ambush 25 EC did not differ from controls, while the seeds of cv. Nike considerably differed from controls in this respect. An opposite response of the investigated cultivars to the chemical was shown after determining the water-soluble sugars. Changes in the contents of basic storage components in seeds of both cultivars of peas treated directly with Ambush 25 EC also persisted with varying intensity in the yield of the second generation of plants
