Relationship between the date of planting and utilization of nitrogen by several potato varieties
1988
Gluska, A. (Instytut Ziemniaka, Jadwisin (Poland). Zaklad Uprawy Nawozenia i Mechanizacji)
The goal of the work was to specify the information on the demand of several potato varieties for nitrogen fertilization and to determine the change of that demand in dependence on the planting date. It was found that the most favourable date of planting was the beginning of the 3 decade of April. Delay of the planting resulted in the decrease of tuber yield, starch content, and starch yield. It resulted also in the decrease of effectiveness of 1 kg N on all varieties. The varieties differed in nitrogen requirements and in the change of requirements after delay of planting date
