It was found that resistance of potato tuber tissue to spread and sporulation of the fungus were independent each from the others. When characterizing resistance of potato tubers the following criteria should be considered: lesion area in the cross section of potato tuber, the type and the depth of penetration of the fungus in the tuber tissue, intensity of sporulation and percentage of blighted eyes
