The results of energy deficiency in the rations for high yielding cows are presented. One of the possibilities to diminish this deficiency is to introduce into the daily ration of cows about 2 kg of roasted rapeseed meal (OO) for the first 100 days of lactation. In the experimental cows fed rations with this meal the milk yield per lactation rose by 302 kg, fat yield by 20 kg and that of protein by 12 kg, compared to control cows. The butterfat content was by 0.35 percent higher
