Influence of Wangenheim Prune seedling rootstock quality on the bud-take and maidens growth

Wangenheim Prune seedlings were used as plum rootstock and their performance in nursery was compared to standard rootstock - Divaricata prune. It was found that thicker Wangenheim Prune seedlings produced larger quantity and better quality maiden trees than thiner ones. Seedlings with root-crown less than 5 mm of diameter are considered useless as a rootstock
