This paper deals with the importance of goats, their utilization, and the development of meat production in Pakistan. Breeding, fattening, management practices, fertility rate, meat production potential, marketing, and slaughtering are discussed. Various factors hindering the development of the meat industry are also discussed. Recommendations are made for future research and development and organizational requirements for the improvement of the meat production industry of Pakistan.
