Effect of Paclobutrazol on growth of Ficus macrocarpa. as dwarfing pot plant
1987
Voravit Lerdsakul
One month after application by soil drench the height of seedlings were reduced by 30-60 % compared with the control and this reduction in growth rate lasted for four months, by the fifth month the growth came to normal. Application by spraying reduced the height of seedlings by 50-70 % noticed in one month after spraying and the growth rate came to normal after two months. Comparing the methods of chemical application, it was shown that application by soil drench is more effective in lowering growth rate compared to the spray, and the chemical can be used at the lower rate. However both methods reduce the leaf area but had no effect on the width of seedlings, the number of side branch and stem diameter.
