The investigation was carried out regarding differences in the growth of field ash in relation to the forest types. The following was established: concentration of nutrients in leaves; growth and increment of field ash differed regarding ecological management types. Strong correlation between the concentration of nitrogen in leaves, growth and volume increment was established. With other investigated elements (P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Fe, Mn, Zn), the correlation was significantly weaker. A strong, positive correlation was established between the content of physiologically active phosphorus in soil and its concentration in leaves. The correlation is similar between pH value and the calcium concentration in leaves. No correlations were established between the content of total nitrogen in soil and nitrogen concentration in leaves as well as between accessible potassium and concentration of potassium in leaves. Weather conditions, hydro--amelioration operations, management and pollution could influence significantly the nutrition. In the surroundings of industrial areas, the concentration of sulphur increased in leaves.
