Red and White Lowland (Rotbunt) breed in cattle in Vojvodina province [Yugoslavia] (1)

Investigation deals with the first generation of the Red and White lowland (Rotbunt) breed cows which were direct offsprings of pregnant cows and heifers imported in 1959 and 1960 from the Netherlands to an agricultural estate near Zrenjanin in Vojvodina (Yugoslavia). All cows of the first generation (361 with the first lactation) had in their lifetime a total of 1,608 lactations, in the sequence from the 1st (n=361) to the 12th (n=1). Variability of the lactation duration, production of milk and fat and the content of milk fat was investigated. All features were assessed in the course of actual lactation and 305-day lactation (standard).
