The analysis of prometaphase figures in lymphocyte cells of peripheral blood in pigs was carried out. The following was established: the number of chromosomes was diploid, 2n=38; a percentage of polyploid (tetraploid) mitoses, 4n=76 was observed; diploid chromosome set consisted of 36 autosome pairs, out of which 24 were metacentric, submetacentric or subtelocentric and 12 pairs - acrocentric or telocentric. A pair of large and submetacentric x sex chromosomes (xx) was registered.
