Evaluation of damage and some results

The paper provides an explanation of a methodological approach to the complex investigations into damage evaluation in forestry. The complexity of investigations can be seen in a number of interdependent and negative effects of both biotic and abiotic factors, the consequences being expressed by four parameters: loss of production quantity, reduced quality and technical usability, increased costs of forest protection, increased costs of forest regeneration. Summing up the parameter values, results in the cost of damage could be obtained. The second part of the paper contains the results of measuring damage at thinnings carried out on 7 experimental plots in natural beech stands.
