[Can the climazonal solonchaks exist in the ecological conditions of Vojvodina [Yugoslavia]]

This is an analysis of factors which influence the formation of climazonal solonchaks. The following has been concluded: Ecological conditions found in Vojvodina (Yugoslavia) do not provide a suitable medium for the formation of solonchaks, mainly due to the unsuitable relation between rainfall and evapotranspiration. Defining certain types of halomorphic soils in accordance with the adopted criteria is not reliable. Almost all halomorphic soils in Vojvodina are covered with grass, mainly from the Gramineae line, with the exception of smaller spots, the so called "bald" areas in the form of inclusions.
