Honeybee keeping supplying products such as honey, pollen, beeswax, propolis and others represents one of the important branches of livestock in the Province of Vojvodina (Yugoslavia) showing certain stagnancy, even a drop in production in the last rew years. Honeybee health care programs have not been adopted although the incidence of infectious and parasitic diseases is increasing. A number of beekeepers, untrained to handle the honeybee diseases, has to abandon this kind of production. During 1986, the incidence of parasitic and infectious diseases of honeybees in the Province of Vojvodina was tested and the results were obtained as follows: 1. Out of 4 honeybee diseases registered in the Federal Law Index, only acariasis was not confirmed. 2. Out of other three, varroa showed a spreading tendency inducing a great damage to honeybee keeping. 3. Due to the great economical damage to beekeeping, effective means of protection shold be developed.
