The variation of tobacco content in dependance of the drying conditions
1988
Djukic, M. (Poljoprivredni fakultet, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
In this work a connection is shown between the tobacco compounds and the conditions during period of drying. It is concluded that the quantity of carbohydrates soluble in water and free polyphenoles increases during the time of drying. Determination of quantly of proteins in tobacco dried in different conditions showed a decrease of nitrogen proteins in phase of yellowing and it is in reverse proportion with the quantity of carbohydrates. During the time of drying, in the period of moisture decreasing, the quantity of nitrogen proteins increased especially when drying time was longer. It can be supposed that nitrogen proteins are products of the reaction between amino acids and polysacharides.
