Silaged corn grain was utilized as a sole constituent of rations fed to 44 Swedish Landrace sows of parent stock from day 5 prior to partus until weaning of the litter, i.e. for 26 days, and the reproductive performance of sows observed. From the obtained results the following can be concluded: modest ration, with regard to quantity and quality, (silaged corn grain) fed to lactating sows, from partus to weaning, did not have negative effect on the observed reproductional parameters. Due to accumulated nutritive ingredients during pregnancy anabolism in the organism of sows, the first phase of lactation depends mostly on the sow's feeding during pregnancy and on the general reproductive performance of sows. It can be assumed that in the next reproductional disorders may occur, which will be the subject of authors further observations.
