The weed flora in buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) and possibilities of its control

Floristic research in buckwheat was performed in 1986 at the production locations of Agricultural Working Organization Fericanci (Yugoslavia) on a pseudogley soil type. The results indicate that in weed flora of buckwheat the dominant weed in Echinochloa crus galli, with its offshoots number and mass sharing 85% of the total weed mass. The Magnoliate have a mass share of only 13%, with the most numerous being Chenopodium polyspermum. Herbicides Dual and Targa, as well as their combinations, showed no phytotoxicity for buckwheat. Postemergence herbicide Targa showed excellent efficacy in Liliate control (EC = 100%) and a very good one preemergence Dual (EC = 54.4 - 64.9%), being presented in table 3.
