Influence of preventive treatment and fertilization on coniferous seedlings, grown in containers

In the course of 1989 the research of the effect of preventive treatment and the use of mineral fertilizer on the health condition and the quality of Austrian pine, Weymouth pine, European larch and Douglas fir seedlings grown in containers has been carried out. Experiments were set up in the nursery in Sremcica (Yugoslavia) in 5 variants: 1. Treatment with concentration of Benomyl (0.08%); 2.Treatment with copperoxychloride in 0.5 per cent concentration; 3. Treatment with copperoxychloride in combination with NPK fertilizer; 4. Fertilization with NPK; 5. Control variant. The best germination results and the best quality of seedlings have been achieved by combined application of copperoxychloride and NPK fertilizer.
