Examination of mineral composition of soil and plant material from meadows in northeastern Serbia [Yugoslavia]

Since minerals are extremely important in the diet and for the health of domestic animals, the soil and plant samples from meadows found in north-eastern Serbia (Yugoslavia), in the locality of Pozezeno, were investigated. The following has been established: the quantity of Fe in the soil was sufficient; Mn, Cu and Zn were present in medium quantities; the quality of Co was low. The available Mg in the plant material was sufficient. There was a sufficient quantity of Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and Ca. There was an insufficient quantity of Co, while an insufficient amount of Mg was found in the Festuca vaginata.
