Investigations of soil fertility in citrus groves in Bar's surrounding [Yugoslavia]

These investigations have been carried out in 7 sites in Bar's surroundings (the Montenegro coast, Yugoslavia), and for each site the soil was tested in 5 citrus groves (oranges and mandarins). Only some basic parameters of soil fertility (pH, CaCO3, humus, P2O5 and K2O) have been covered by this study. On the basis of the results obtained it may be concluded that the majority of citrus groves in sites Bjelisi, Dobra Voda and Zaljevo are mainly provided with basic nutritive elements, the other sites being poor. These, poor soils should be brought by agro-meliorative fertilization to the optimal fertility level and fertility should be maintained.
