Coumarins from roots and fruits of Peucedanum longifolium W. at K.

By extraction with alcohol, it was found that the dry roots of the drug plant Peucedanum longifolium (Apiaceae), contains about 5% and dry fruits about 1.6% of coumarin extracts. By using paper chromatography, 8 products were found, isolated and identified by chromatography on a silica gel column. Peucedanum longifolium is an endemic of the Balkan Peninsula.
