Estrus synchronization and off-season lambing of sheep with intention of intensive lamb production

On the basis of the obtained results, the following has been concluded: By using various hormonal preparations, it is possible to control the process of reproduction, i.e. to cause estrus, pregnancy and lambing of the halfbreed sheep, domestic (Yugoslav) Merino, and Wirtemberg; By pairing during an off-season (caused) estrus, it is possible to achieve three lambings in less than two years; The average number of lambs per sheep, in off-season period, is similar to the number attained when the system of one lambing per year is applied; Satisfactory results, when applying various hormonal methods, are possible only with balanced and good quality nutrition.
