The economy of irrigation system exploitation in the Province of Vojvodina [Yugoslavia]

The efficacy of irrigation system utilization was investigated in this work, at the level of the Province, Vojvodina (Yugoslavia) and with several selected systems. For the period of 20 years the construction level and system utilization of irrigation was analysed, as well as achieved effects of certain productions. By several selected systems, which represent modern technical solutions, the effects were observed in last years according to unique methodology. In this respect, the estimation of attained results was done in comparision to potential ones. The correlations among yields of certain crops, rainfalls and supplement water quantities by irrigation were observed. The observation period was rather short as to be able to bring some meritory evaluations. The investigation indicates a necessity of serious work doing on economic effects verification of irrigation, especially with benefit evaluation. The present bookkeeping methods in productional units do not allow proper analysis.
