Effects of legume cover crops and tillage on grain sorghum yield
1991
Rahman, M.M.
Meteora sub-clover produced the highest yields of dry matter and was well adapted to catalpa silty clay soil. Nitrogen concentration in hairy vetch was significantly higher than other cover crops. Sorghum following hairy vetch produced the highest yields. Conventional tillage was superior to non-tillage. A significant response was obtained to fertilizer N. Sorghum yields following hairy vetch without additional fertilizer N was approximately equivalent to no-tillage plus 135 kg N/ha.
