Effects of (15)N-labelled azolla and urea on the yield of rice [in Bangladesh]
1990
Mian, M.H.
A field experiment conducted at the Bangladesh Agricultural University Farm in Boro season showed 27-50, 27-38 and 24-37% increases in grain yields over control, respectively, due to the application of 65, 60 and 60 kg N ha-1 as Azolla (2 splits-0 and 60 days), urea (similar 2 splits) and urea (3 best splits). The corresponding increases in N uptake in grains were 47-59, 46-59 and 47-55%, respectively. Overall, the grain yields obtained due to the application of 65 kg N ha-1 as Azolla were higher over the similar application of the same amount of urea N. The (15)N tracer showed that 27-34% of Azolla N and 24-32% of urea N was available to the BR3 rice plants.
