The influence of growth regulators on the content of nitrogen and pure proteins in potatoes
1991
Mica, B. | Zrust, J. (Vyzkumny Ustav Bramborarsky, Havlickuv Brod (CSFR))
Four-year field trials (1986-1989) were conducted at two nitrogen application rates (80 and 120 kg per ha) with two varieties: Karin (early, table) and Kamyk (late, commercial) after spraying with growth regulators: the Flordimex T preparation with an active substance - 2-chloroethylphosphonic acid 340 - 35 g per l and the Cultar preparation with an active substance paclobutrazol. The dry matter content, total and protein nitrogen in potato tubers were investigated in the growing season and at the harvest after physiological ripening of the stand. The contents of these main components of a tuber changed when treated with growth regulators. These changes were nonessential for influencing the tuber quality.
