Results of field trials performed from 1986-1989 with biological preplanting treatment in 18 potato varieties classified into groups according to the duration of the growing season are evaluated. The dynamics of an increase in the tuber weight is given in the growing season together with the results of the harvest at the stage of ripeness. The treatment was specified according to needs of performance trends and orientation of production. The presprouting of very early and early varieties significantly increased the tuber weight in the earliest dates of the harvest. The presprouting in these varieties may be considered as unreplaceable for economically effective production. It was demonstrated that budding is a significant intensifying factor in semi-early, semi-late and late varieties when this significantly increased the total yield at the final harvest, market production of tubers and starch output.
