A comparison is drawn and based on the example of the irrigation system Pod Brnem, regarding spring soil moisture after the warm winter with low level of precipitation (1988/1989) and humidity expected in the calculations of irrigation system, plus soil humidity during the vegetation period. The determined facts and some dangers related to intensive irrigation are pointed out
